Do You Have the Best Gingerbread House? Enter Contest at Lasdon Park

Put on your elf hat and roll up your sleeves. It’s time to put all those gumdrops and candy canes to good use.

Showcase your original, edible, sugar-and-spice creations at the first-ever Lasdon Park Holidays on the Hill Gingerbread House Contest at the Main House at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Somers.

Contest registration deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 10 and all entries must be delivered to Lasdon between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, for judging that day. Winners will be notified on Dec. 16.

All winning gingerbread houses will remain on display during the Lasdon Park Holidays on the Hill Train Show. Entries will be divided into three categories: Child (age 8-16) with a $5 registration fee; Adult (age 17+) with a $10 registration fee; and Family (two or more individuals) with a $15 registration fee.

Following the judging, contestants may opt to let Lasdon donate their creation to the Veterans Hospital in Montrose.

Lasdon Park Holidays on the Hill Gingerbread House Contest and Train show is sponsored by the Friends of Lasdon. Lasdon Park is located on 2610 Amawalk Road (Route 35) in Somers.
