Yorktown Community to Benefit Eliseo Family with 'Dine to Donate'

The family's Wildwood Street home was destroyed by a Nov. 24 blaze. The "Dine to Donate" event will be held on Monday, Dec. 16 at Frankie & Augie'z restaurant.

A Yorktown family is grieving the loss of their four dogs who perished in their Wildwood Street house fire on Nov. 24. The fire, which reduced the home to rubble, also threatened to kill Maria Eliseo and her oldest daughter Marie had their dog Nero not woken them up and two good samaritans rushed to help

The Eliseo family has since been embraced by the Yorktown community who rallied to search for Nero who was initially presumed alive, and make donations to the family of five who lost everything they had.

On Monday, Dec. 16, residents are invited to the "Dine to Donate" event from 3 p.m. to closing at Frankie & Augie’z restaurant, located at 3673 Hill Blvd. in Jefferson Valley. The event will benefit the Eliseo family.

"It’s awful what happened to this family, losing everything they owned a few days before Thanksgiving," Yorktown Grange member Curt Chase said.

Chase, along with fellow member Scott Nelsen and Grange President Nicole Fervan, initiated the charitable effort on Dec. 16.

"This is a Yorktown family – our neighbors – and they need our help," Chase said.

Frankie & Augie’z restaurant patrons can mention the "Dine to Donate" event to their server and Frankie & Augie’z will donate 20 percent of the bill to the Eliseo fundraising effort. All purchases made on Monday are eligible – dine in, take out and deliveries.

Everyone is invited to come by 11:45 a.m. The Eliseo family hopes to see the followers, volunteers, friends and family at the service and thank each person for their help and condolences during their time of loss.
