Food Collection for the Montrose VA Food Pantry

Members of Yorktown American Legion Post #1009 will have tables outside of the Shrub Oak A&P Supermarket on E. Main St and the Yorktown A&P Supermarket at the Triangle Shopping Center from 9 AM to 1 PM to accept donations of non-perishable food items which can be dropped off as customers exit the stores.

Veterans receiving treatment at the Veterans Administration facility at Montrose are often on a fixed disability income and many are barely making ends meet in today’s expensive world.  Veterans that have honorably served their country should not have to suffer the indignity of going without food items until their next paycheck comes in.  The VA Food Pantry provides the opportunity for those who have served their country with honor to make ends meet with dignity.
