Civil War Veterans' Memorial Ceremony

The Yorktown American Legion, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Somers Middle School 'Living History' students, and Civil War re-enactors will conduct a memorial ceremony at two recently discovered Civil War veterans graves in the Shrub Oak United Methodist cemetery.  Pvt Albert Sillick fell at the second Battle of Bull Run on August 30, 1862 and Thomas Wildey fell at the Battle of Hanover Court House on May 27, 1862.  This ceremony will be followed by the decoration of all known veterans graves in the cemetery with American flags.
