Hurricane Sandy Cleanup Day

Hurricane Sandy Cleanup Day on November 17th 2012

Hurricane Sandy roared through FDR State Park on Mon. October 29th left behind more than 100 down trees, and debris in her wake. Other state parks employees have joined FDR staff to remove the fallen trees, but more help is needed.
 
Join the Friends of FDR State Park on November 17th. between 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM! Help restore the FDR State Park and make it fully functional. We will move branches to the road for pick up and rake debris into piles for removal. Dress in layers of work clothes, bring work gloves and leaf rakes (if possible).

FDR Park is helping surrounding communities. The pool parking lot is the site for temporary housing site for 500 people assisting with relief efforts. Please say thank you if you see any of the workers.
