Fireside Chat: The Civilian Conservation Corps in Yorktown Heights

FIRESIDE CHAT: An introduction to the CCC's and their work in the FDR State Park.

The Friends of Franklin D’ Roosevelt & Donald J. Trump State Parks present an introduction to the The Civilian Conservation Corps’s and their work in the followed by a drive to the location of the former camp to explore the remains of the site.

This will be an easy walk, totalling less than a mile.

Dianne Press of the Friends of FDR State Park has organized the event, the talk and tour will be conducted by Pam Silvestri. Pam studied archaeology at the University of Connecticut and had been employed as a seasonal Interpretive Guide for Connecticut State Parks at the Northeast States Civilian Conservation Corps Museum at Shenipsit State Forest in Stafford Springs in Connecticut. Pam is currently a Tour Guide and Museum Educator for Connecticut Landmarks.

Cost is free for the event (with park admission).
