Support-A-Walk Open House

Everyone is welcome to join Support Connection at their Support-A-Walk Open House. Meet Support Connection staff and volunteers, enjoy light refreshments, and receive hands-on help getting ready for the 19th Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer.

The Open House will offer “one-stop-shopping” to help people begin preparing for the Walk:

  • Participants can register and donate in-person.
  • Walk tee-shirts will be on hand for pickup.
  • Anyone seeking help creating an online fundraising page will receive step-by-step assistance at on-site computers.
  • Those interested in forming a Walk Team will receive materials and practical tips.
  • Tribute Message signs, which are displayed along the Walk path with personal messages of support, will be available for viewing and purchase.
  • Brochures and flyers can be picked up for sharing with others and in the community.
The Support-A-Walk, which will be on Sun. Oct. 6 at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights, was founded nineteen years ago by local residents to bring attention to the needs of people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, and to raise funds for Support Connection’s free support services for those living with these diseases. People travel from across the Hudson Valley and beyond to take part in this inspiring and uplifting community event. Participants of all ages complete a 3-mile walk, often in honor of loved ones who are affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Families, friends, co-workers and teams of walkers are invited to walk together. Individuals are also welcome to participate. To learn more, visit www.supportconnection.org.
