July Art Exhibit and reception at the Somers Library

On view from July 2 –
July 30, 2014, the Somers Library Art
Gallery presents: ‘Captivated by Color’ - Original Art Work by Yorktown Artist
Rose Stock



 



This exhibit includes charcoal sketches and oil paintings of
landscapes and still life subjects.  An
opening reception for the artist will be held in the Somers Library art gallery
on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 1:00pm.

Rose Stock was born and raised in the Bronx, NY but has
lived and worked most of her life in the Hudson Valley.  She currently resides in Yorktown.  She
has always had an appreciation and love for art since childhood.  She worked many years as an
administrative assistant and is now focusing on her artistic endeavors. Rose
began taking art classes five years ago at the Katonah Art Center and the
Putnam Arts Center with art instructor and local artist Jeanne Demotses.  Rose is also a member of the Putnam Arts
Council.  Her work has been included in
exhibitions at KAC and PAC.  Subsequent
shows were at the DeWindt Gallery, All Mine Jewelers, and Club Fit at Jefferson
Valley.  In 2010 she received Best in
Class at the Yorktown Grange Fair.

Artist Statement - “I enjoy a sense of creative freedom when
I paint.  I am intrigued and enchanted by
the moods, play of light and beauty of the scenes which captivate me and
inspire my paintings.”
