Do you enjoy working in the garden and would like to help feed the underfed in our communities?
With the help of the Peekskill Area Pastors Association and the Yorktown Nazarene Church, a group of volunteers is ready to establish a one and a half acre community vegetable garden in Yorktown Heights. The purpose of this garden will be to grow fresh produce that will be distributed to the food pantries in our communities. We are seeking volunteers to assist in any or all of the following activities: erecting fences, preparing the fields, assisting with the planting, growing, and harvesting on the farm. We are seeking volunteers who would be able to assist with these activities on a regular weekly basis throughout the entire planting, growing, and harvesting seasons.
An informational meeting will be held at 7 pm on April 8, 2014 at the Yorktown Nazarene Church, 1243 White Hill Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
