"A Place at the Table" film, potluck meal and panel discussion

A Place at the Table, released in March

2013 is an eye-opening documentary about hunger in the United States. If you have ever wondered why so many Americans live with chronic hunger in a nation of such abundance, you will find answers in this film. 50 million Americans, including 1 in 4 children—live with the chronic struggle of putting food on the
table.
During the late 1960s and early 1970s, hunger was a major problem in the
U.S. and we made significant strides in reducing it, but then circumstances
arose that contributed to the increase in hunger we have today. This film asserts that we can make noteworthy progress against hunger again, and viewers are called to take action.

There will be a potluck supper at 6 pm, followed by the
film at 6:45 pm, and a panel discussion at 8:15 pm.  Panelists include representatives from The Community Food Pantry in Mohegan Lake, Fred's Pantry in Peekskill and Bread for the World Westchester.
