Yorktown Town Board Candidate's 100x100
Evan Bray wants to seek the Yorktown Democratic Committee endorsement for vacant Town Board seat. He believes his professional background as a trained architect and building code and zoning consultant gives him a unique ability to help streamline the planning, zoning and permitting processes, benefiting both the applicants and volunteer boards that dutifully serve our town. He believes planning reform is vital to spur development creating desperately needed tax ratables. His political views are middle of the row; he's fiscally conservative with a libertarian bent.
However, as it were, you need money to be a viable candidate. The word on the street pins that number around $10,000. Mr. Bray has no monies in his budget for a political campaign. His four daughters, no older than 7 years old, and wife have all of his discretionary funds tied up for the foreseeable future.
This is where the 100x100 comes in: Mr. Bray is seeking a written (email) commitment from 100 Yorktown residents, pledging 100 dollars towards his campaign; that would total $10,000. He will not call on you to fulfill that commitment unless he gets the full pledge before May 14th. It's ambitious, but what does he have to lose?
Should you choose to commit 100 dollars to Mr. Bray, please email an affirmation to YorktownCode@gmail.com
Again, the monies will only be payable should the goal of 100 Yorktown residents pledging 100 dollars to his campaign be reached, and--of course--he gets the backing of the Yorktown Democratic Committee. It's not all about money, people.
