Description: The rides open Wednesday through Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. Parking and admission is free.
Yorktown: Miles for Medals' Walk for Special Olympics
Where: Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown

When: Sunday, April 28, registration at 9 a.m., walk begins at 10 a.m.
Cost: Suggested donation of $25
Description: The Vincent Miritello Miles for Medals Walk is a 2-mile walk with beautiful scenery that will benefit the Hudson Valley Special Olympics. All money raised at the Miles for Medals Walk will benefit local programs.
Yorktown: Celebrate Arbor Day
Where: Patriot Garden behind Town Hall, 363 Underhill Avenue, Yorktown Heights
When: Friday, Aprril 26 at 4 p.m.
Cost: Free
Description: Celebrate the trees with a ceremonial tree planting. Yorktown officials will announce the winners of Yorktown’s Arbor Day poster contest. The event is ponsored in part by Con Edison and the Rotary Club of Yorktown. Arbor Day is celebrated in towns and cities across the United States, inspiring people to plant and nurture trees, which enhance and beautify their communities. Yorktown: 3rd Annual HealthYorktown 5K Walk and Run
Where: FDR State Park, Route 202 Yorktown
When: Saturday, Aprril 27
Cost: $30 for runners, $15 for walkers
Description: The third annual "HealthYorktown" 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run will bring health awareness to the community and raise money for the local school districts. The event will be benefitting Yorktown's Foundation for Excellence in Yorktown Education and the Lakeland Education Foundation.
Yorktown: A Cabaret
Where: John C. Hart Memorial Library, 1130 E Main St, Shrub Oak, NY
When: Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m.
Cost: Free
Description: Vicki Casella and Clif Lewis wlill perform a cabaret of songs from classic Broadway shows such as Guys & Dolls, Oklahoma and Fiddler On The Roof; songs from The American Songbook including Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer and Jerome Kern; and songs from contemporary Broadway shows like Hairspray, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera. No registration, doors open at 1:30 p.m. for general seating.
Yorktown: Tag Sale to Benefit Support Connection
Where: Yorktown Grange Fair Grounds, 99 Moseman Road , Yorktown Heights.
When: Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Description: Students from Yorktown High School will be hosting a Tag Sale to benefit Support Connection’s free breast and ovarian cancer support services. There will be a wide selection of new or gently used items for sale, such as small household goods, collectibles, jewelry, personal accessories, toys, games, books, DVD’s, CD’s, kitchenware, items suitable for college dorms.

Tarrytown: Rotary Duck Derby and YMCA Healthy Kids Day
Where: Patriots Park, 121 N Broadway, Tarrytown
When: Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free, $10 for unlimited kids' rides
Description: Rotary Rubber Duck Derby races 2,000 rubber ducks at Patriots Park with the assistance of Hope Hose and Conquerer Fire Dept. The ducks race in 5 heats. Winners of each heat race in final race for the $1,500 Grand Prize. Meantime, enjoy Healthy Kids Day at the Park with the YMCA. Rides for kids, games, food, music, and so much more. Brendan Murphy, the 16-year-old Sleepy Hollow student who is giving away 600 trophies to Special Olympics athletes next month, will be at the race. Anyone willing, can sponsor a trophy to help his cause. He raising money to establish a ski team at his high school. Read more about him here.
Bedford: Six Ladders Opens at KMA

Description: Bright swaths of vibrant colors transform the Katonah Museum of Art’s exterior beginning this Sunday, April 21st with the opening of its newest outdoor exhibition, Six Ladders by artist Andrea Lilienthal. Lilienthal created a series of giant bamboo ladders for the Museum’s stately Sculpture Garden that are whimsical and enigmatic; their brilliant colors electrifying the natural surroundings.
Mt. Kisco: Hot Cars for a Cooler Tomorrow

Description: The Briarcliff Congregational Church's annual rummage sale draws crowds from around the region each year. Items for sale include clothing, books, houseware, toys, appliances, furniture, sporting goods and more. There will be lunch and a bake sale.
Irvington: RiverArts Studio Tour

Description: The RiverArts Studio Tour features the diverse work of over 80 artists in studios and pop-up installations throughout the Rivertowns -- among them: the woodblock prints that comprise the tugboat mural on Tarrytown's C-Town. Katonah: Poetry Outside and Out Loud!

Description: Bring the family to KVL on Saturday afternoon to hear poetry on the KVL library plaza. Children, teens and adults are welcome to read a favorite poem or recite one of your own.
