Yorktown Easter Egg Hunt Returns March 23 at Downing Park

It is sponsored by the Yorktown Lions Club, Yorktown Leo Club, and the town's parks and recreation department.

The annual Yorktown Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, March 23 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Downing Park. 

Children, 12 years and under, can enjoy an egg hunt, candy and various prizes. They can also try to guess the amount of jellybeans in the jellybean jar, have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and other characters, and enjoy hunting for colored eggs. Prizes will be available for everyone, with special prizes for the finders of the special eggs.

The Yorktown Recreation Department and the Yorktown Lions Club are co-sponsoring the Easter Egg Hunt. 

Downing Park is located at 2881 Crompond Road (Route 202) in Yorktown Heights.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
