"What's Eating You?" Play Premiers, Paint the Town Purple, Speed Dating

Here are five things you need to know today, May 3.

1. "What's Eating You?" Play

Author and playwright Jill Brooke, who lives in Bedford and is a former CNN correspondent, newspaper and magazine columnist, knows about the importance of food. During a tough time in her life, it was the dinners she cooked that helped her and her family get through. 

Her play "What's Eating You?" premiers tonights at on Mohegan Lake. The play will run through May 20. to read more.

3. Speed Dating 

Speed dating is coming to Piazza Roma in the Cortlandt Town Center tonight beginning at 7 p.m. 

Single men and women between the ages of 25 and 45 are invited to the event. There is a cover of $15, which includes the entry into Speed Dating and one alcoholic beverage ticket. Visit www.VibeSpeedDating.com to purchase tickets. 

4. Paint the Town Purple

Relay for Life Yorktown will be painting the yellow line down Commerce Street purple in anticipation of Friday's events. The painting ceremony will take place today at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Yorktown firehouse.

5. Westchester Jazz Competition

JazzForum Arts is holding a first annual vocal jazz competition on May 5. Interested singers can download an audition form and bring it with them to audition on May 5. Read more .
