Taste of Yorktown Winners, NextGen Film Festival, Twitter Chat for Foodies

1. ASK Cook Off Winners

Trophies were awarded to the winners of the 7th annual  cook-off competition:

The judges for the first three categories were: WABC meteorologist Lee Goldberg, town supervisor Michael Grace, town justice Sal Lagonia and Alliance for Safe Kids Art Lander.

2. Film Festival

Viewing of short films and PSA entries from 6th to 12th grade students will be on tonight at 6 p.m. at BOCES in Yorktown. Light refreshments will be served. is open to public.

3. Twitter Chat for Foodies

ArtsWestchester has announced a Twitter Chat that will showcase the wonderful assortment of tastings available from more than 30 restaurants participating in . The chat will feature the activities from the event, plus, Twitter followers who RSVP will qualify for giveaways during the chat, including restaurant gift cards and tickets to the event. First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
