Taconic State Parkway Lane Closures; Somers Lions Club Benefit Concert; Raise a Guiding Eyes Puppy

Here are five things you need to know today, Dec. 3.

1. Taconic State Parkway Lane Closures

The New York State Department of Transportation will be conducting lane closures on the Taconic State Parkway both northbound and southbound, between Pines Bridge Road and Underhill Avenue for construction activities. Weather permitting, the closures will occur weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. until Dec. 28.

The Somers Lions Club presents the "Norm Hathaway Big Band" on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. The performance will benefit the Friends of Karen Adopt-a-Family Holiday Gift program. Tickets are avaible online by clicking here.

3. Submit Costco Written Comments by Dec. 19

4. Guiding Eyes for the Blind Accepts New Puppy Raisers and Fosters

Guiding Eyes for the Blind, known around the globe as one of the foremost guide dog schools, is now accepting new puppy raisers and foster volunteers in Westchester County and the surrounding region. The nonprofit organization based in Yorktown invits residents to open their homes and hearts in a rare volunteer opportunity to either raise a future guide dog or become a permanent foster to one of Guiding Eyes’ superb breeding dogs.
