Share Photos: Halloween Goes On Despite Hurricane Sandy

Add your pictures of your costume or your neighborhood.

Despite Halloween being cancelled in Somers and Yorktown police discouraging parents from going out in the streets to trick or treat, local children still got a chance to dress up.

Halloween was still on Wednesday night, even though many neighborhoods were in the dark.

Patch readers wrote on our Yorktown-Somers Patch Facebook page that there were trunk and treat events going on in Yorktown – one at Club Fit and another one at Kmart's parking lots.

"The children were able to enjoy their Halloween and stay safe from the debris and dangling wires," Allison Elaine wrote. "A special thanks to Club Fit that were accommodating and allowed the event to take place in their parking lot."

Robyn Berger Ulbrich said she attended the one at the Kmart parking lot.
