Salsa Fresca Grand Opening; Chamber of Commerce Home Expo; Donations for Scholarships

1. Salsa Fresca Grand Opening

Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill in the Triangle Shopping Center in Yorktown will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. All meals will be 20% off and include a free fountain beverage.

2. Jilco/Yorktown Chamber of Commerce Home Expo

The Jilco/Yorktown Chamber of Commerce Home Expo will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Club Fit, located at 600 Bank Road in Jefferson Valley. Call the Chamber office at 914-245-4599 for more information.

3. Tea With the Seton's

Go back in time 200 years with tea and games as a part of the Seton Parish Jubilee Year Celebration on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Monsignor Nugent Auditorium. You can sample colonial era treats, and music, demonstrations of crafts, spinning, weaving, washing, baking, butter churning, and candle making. Play children’s games, including hoop rolling,     bean bag and ring tossing, hopscotch, whirligigs, Jacob’s ladder, doll making, and juggling. Admission is free.

4. Somers PTSA Seeks Donations for Scholarships

The Somers High School Parent Teacher Student Association Scholarship Committee awards seniors every year with a $1,000 scholarship to assist with continued educational costs for college, vocational or trade school.

Committee members are currently seeking donations in order to make these scholarships available to five seniors in 2013. Click here for more details and find out how much could help. 

5. Yorktown Full Time Attorney Appointed

Yorktown Town Board members appointed Jeannette Koster as town attorney at a salary of $110,000. She serves at this position as a full-time department head, according to the town's resolution on Tuesday.
