5. Animal Shelters Seek Blankets

Several local humane society chapters are seeking donations of large and small blankets to help keep hundreds of rescued dogs and cats warm this winter at their animal shelters. South Salem Animal Hospital (1310 Route 35, South Salem, NY  10590), and Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital (44 Mill Plain Road, Danbury, CT 06811) are making it easy for you to help by serving as drop-off points during the month of January—just come in with any blankets you want to donate and we will see that they get delivered to the local animal shelters that need them most. You can read more about this on their blog here and here.
