2. Operate Concession Stand in Somers

The town of Somers is seeking requests for proposal for a contract to operate a concession stand in Reis Park. Proposals will be received in person at the office of the Town Clerk Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by mail to Somers Town Clerk 335 Route 202, Somers, NY 10598 P.O. 3. Yorktown BOE Meeting – Support of Gun Violence Prevention

Yorktown Central School District school board members will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the Mildred E. Strang Middle School cafeteria. Board members are expected to pass a resolution that the school district supports the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendent's Policy and Legislative Reforms to prevent gun violence as outlined in the January 2013 Call for Action. Update: The meeting for this evening has been cancelled due to the inclement weather and it has been rescheduled to next Monday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.

5. Deadlines Extended for FEMA Registration 

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, at the request of the State of New York, has approved a 30-day extension for survivors to register for federal disaster assistance. The new registration deadline for Hurricane Sandy survivors in New York is Feb. 27
