Harold P. Whalen of Yorktown Dies at 94

The man was an usher for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak. He had also served in the US Army during WWII and worked for Con Edison before retiring.

From the Yorktown Funeral Home: Harold P. Whalen of Yorktown Heights passed away on Jan. 20, 2013. He was 94. 

Whalen was born in Yonkers on Dec. 6, 1918 to Thomas and Anna Whalen. He served in the US Army during WWII. The man later worked for Con Edison and retired in 1973. He volunteered at Open Gate for the last 25 years and an usher for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

Whalen is survived by his three nieces; Kathy Martin, Barbara Whalen, and Lisa Whalen and one nephew Thomas Whalen.

Family will receive friends at the Yorktown Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 25 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
