Best Halloween Costume, Soundview Prep Open House, Free BBQ for Seniors

1. Mark Your Calendars – Storyteller Comes to Town

The Community Church of Yorktown, located at 1645 Baptist Church Rd., is having its fundraising event on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. Legendary storyteller Jonathan Kruk will be telling a story at the event. Kruk is known for his dramatic performances of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "A Christmas Carol." 2. Free BBQ for Jefferson Village Seniors

Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C) is hosting a free senior BBQ at the Jefferson Village Community Center this Thursday, Oct. 25. More than 350 residents have confirmed for the BBQ at 4 p.m. 

3. Open House at Soundview Prep

Soundview Preparatory School will hold an Open House today from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Attendees can learn about the school's college preparatory program and their "uniquely personalized learning community (grades 6-12) that fosters self-confidence and individuality."

4. National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

The Lakeland High School National Honor Society induction ceremony is tonight at 6:30 p.m. Congratulations to all the students!

5. Wanted: Best Halloween Costume
