AMVETS Bridge Commute, Presidential Debate, Somers Town Board Meeting

Here are five things you need to know today, Oct. 4.

1. AMVETS Bridge Commute

The two-lane restriction on the Taconic State Parkway southbound side is still in effect, while the three lanes on the northbound side are open. It will take about seven working days to completely reopen the southbound lanes. They should be completed by the end of next week. Read more here.

4. Lakeland Board of Education Meeting

The Board of Education will hold a work session today at 7:30 p.m. in the Lakeland Administration Building, 1086 East Main Street, Shrub Oak. The meeting is open to the public. Although there is no opportunity for public comment at work sessions, there are two opportunities for public comment at the Board's regular monthly meeting. Click here for the agenda.

5. Charitable Organization of the Week

The Yorktown Community Nursery School is the Charitable Organization of the Week (COW) at this week's Yorktown Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can visit the school's table to win raffle prizes.
