It Takes a Neighborhood to Sell a Home

Century 21 North Star Realty Details Why Maintaining Your Home Helps Your Neighbor Sell Faster & For More Money

I can't tell you how many times, over the past 28 years, that I've shown a beautiful home, with a new kitchen, new baths, gorgeously manicured yard and more....only to find that my buyers didn't want to buy it because the neighbor next door or across the street or slightly down the road looked like no one cared about it.

We all know that when a home can't sell, the owner typically reduces it until it sells.

How can that hurt you?

Well, if you go to sell your home at a later date or if you try to refinance your mortgage, the selling price of your neighbor's home helps determine the value of your home.

When selling, if your home appraises lower than your selling price, your buyer may not get the mortgage. If you go to refinance your home and it appraises for less than what you currently owe, you may not be able to refinance it.

Know of a home that's selling in your neighborhood? If it's been a while since you've done a weekend project, get out your rake, a paintbrush, or a hammer and pick an easy no cost or low cost project for your home and enjoy the fresh air!

You'll improve the value of your own home by making it look better while helping your neighbor to sell their home for more money! It's a 'win/win" situation for you!

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
