95 Ways to Be Positive

I sat along the shore wondering where will I be in ten years

I started my blog with the  Ninty five words that describe why I am excited and grateful to be living a healthy lifestyle and enjoying family and friends here in Somers. It was a little over a decade ago that I completed my last radiation treatment for breast cancer. I remember it was a hot summer day when I heard the words, congratulations your treatment is complete. I needed to take a moment so I drove myself to the reservoir to sit and weep tears of joy. I wondered where would I be in 10 years?

Here I am, living at the same address and yet my life has completely changed.  I appreciate all the wonderful people at who told me to be patient and keep looking ahead. I never dreamed eleven years later I would be honored as 2012 Support Connection Humanitarian of the Year. I am thrilled to offer them my support in as many ways as I can. They introduced me to the practice of meditation and yoga and it was at weekly support groups I learned the importance of releasing stress and welcoming balance into my life.

Now, I begin my day with appreciation for all that I have and take notice of the beauty that surrounds me. Since I live and work in Somers I am always finding perfect little spots to stop and savor a few moments. Today it was back along the shores of the reservoir where I sat ten years ago and wondered where will my life take me.

Here I am sharing with you the wonder of our town and my appreciation for Support Connection who offers breast and ovarian cancer support services. Please visit www.supportconnection.org to find out more about their caring community. Life is good.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
