Chain of Fools Band is dedicating its Halloween Howl Annual Party to Mary Jo Sarro’s NYC Marathon Run for Cancer Research. The Halloween Costume Party will take place on Oct. 27, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the Poughkeepsie Elks, 29 Overocker Road, Poughkeepsie and will be rebroadcast on the internet through Facebook and other social media.

“This Halloween Howl will be heard all across the world,” said organizer, Bill Strohm, from the Chain of Fools Band. We support Michelle, her mom, Mary Jo and Mamma Sarro’s Marathon of Hope for all the kids, teens and young adults from the Department of Pediatrics at MSKCC.”

“We are already lining up people in Italy, Spain and Japan who are interested in spreading the word for Mamma Sarro and this Marathon of Hope. The technology of the social media has made it possible for a few determined people to be able raise awareness in creative and effective ways,” said Chris Sarro, Michelle’s dad and Mary Jo’s husband, who will be coordinating the social media broadcasting of the Halloween Howl for the Chain of Fools Band.

“This fundraising event will begin immediately online and just like a HOWL, it will start quietly and begin to rise until it can be heard at great distances from Poughkeepsie to Pisa.

On October 27, 2012, everyone will be able to hear OOOOOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and say, “Go, Michelle, Go, Mary Jo, Go Mamma Sarro’s Marathon of Hope!”

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
