The grand opening of the is finally here and will take place this Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The farmers' market will take place at the field behind the firehouse at 1916 Commerce Street. The entrance is on Veteran’s Road. The field is run by donation, so the farmers' market will benefit by the rental fee paid by the market.
Karen Symington Muendell, who will run the market along with Ed Muendell and Danielle Lewandowski through Maize Market Management Corp, said the farmers' market is designed to support and donate to local charities.
It will also benefit and give exposure to the local farmers. Local vendors who will participate in the Farmers' Market are , Stuart's Farm and .
In addition, a new program "Arts @ The Market" will feature performances, readings and demonstrations every week at 10 a.m. and noon.
This Saturday, May 19 be sure to stop by Patch's table at the Farmers' Market to receive a Patch bag from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on a first come first serve basis.
