Vacancies: What Should Become of the 2 Empty Stores in Somers?

Put aside all the regulations, restrictions and rules—we're asking you what type of establishment would make the most sense in this space.

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning; a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

We present a vacant space or property and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts most people to sleep. What would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Weigh in on the two adjacent, vacant stores on Route 202 in Somers, which are located next to the Somers Deli.

So, we want to know: In an ideal world, what would you like to see happen to the space?

Look at all the open stores in Yorktown. The vacant supermarket by Kmart should be the new big box store/costco location instead of the proposed Route 202 site. Why build more buildings when there are so many empty ones?
