Couples Cooking; Spin and Knit; Pickling: July Events at Yorktown's Hilltop Hanover Farm

From a couples cooking class to a garden check-up and private tour, there are plenty of events going on at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown during the month of July. 

Here they are:

Farm Stand – Fridays 1– 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Open throughout the summer and fall. All produce is grown on the farm without the use of pesticides, synthesized fertilizers or herbicides. Check the website weekly for available produce.

U-Pick – Saturdays, 10a.m. – 4 p.m. (weather permitting)

Enjoy harvesting your own vegetables, herbs and flowers throughout the summer and fall. Pay for your produce at farm stand. Check website weekly for available produce.

Fermented Foods – Saturday, July 6, 12 noon – 2 p.m. in Barn F

Join Hilltop Hanover farmer Mike Fedison for this hands-on workshop on the benefits of fermented foods, and learn how to make sauerkraut and kimchi from scratch. Registration is required; $25 per person, $10 for children ages 8-12.

Couples Cooking - 
Friday, July 19, 7 p.m. in Barn F

Join author Carol Lake for an evening of cooking and fun with your partner or friend and learn how to make delicious cheese and healthy new recipes. Fee $75 per couple.

Garden Check-up and Private Tour – Saturday, July 20, 10 a.m. –noon in Barn F

Bring in pictures of your garden and join one of our farmers for a Q&A session on any issues you might be having this season. Registration is required; $20 per person, $5 for children ages 8-12.

Spin & Knit – Saturday, July 20, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Building A

Gather in an informal atmosphere and be part of a monthly spinning and knitting group. No fee or registration required for first time attendees; $5 for each subsequent class.

Pickling 101 – Saturday, July 27, noon – 4 p.m. in Barn F

A hands-on workshop where we'll teach you how to pickle using Hilltop Hanover's own produce. Registration is required; $25 per person, $10 for children ages 8-12.
