Yorktown Songwriter, 11, Releases Second Single 'Being With You Is Easy'

Sam Levin is only 11 years old, but he has the skills and experience other musicians could be envious of. He plays several instruments, writes the lyrics and music for his own songs and has just released his second single 'Being With You Is Easy."

The Yorktown musician played all of the instruments heard in his latest single, including piano, bass, drums, percussion, rhythm and lead guitar. He also recorded the lead and backing vocals.

"You meet a lot of people," Sam said of the themes explored in his single. "Some are nice and some aren’t. My friends are fun and easy to be with, winning or losing, good times or bad. No drama. Those are the kinds of friends we should try to have, and those are the kinds of people we should try to be."

The young musician's journey began at age 5 when he saw an electric guitar hanging on the wall of a music shop. He pointed at it and told his father he wanted to play the guitar. Sam is now student at The Lagond Music School in Elmsford and plays the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, piano and congas.

He released his debut single titled 'I Sure Hope Not' last October. Sam cites his main artistic influences to be Paul McCartney, Lenny Kravitz, Steve Winwood, and Stevie Wonder.
