Yorktown Teens Perform at the Street Fair and Festival

This was the first time the teens performed at the Festival as they usually play at the ’s open mic. Organizers of the Street Fair and Festival recruited the teens who were excited to have another venue to play at.

The teens performing were: “Us” (Mike McInyre, Joe Schultz, John Venezia, Michael Park and Joe Cirone), Spencer Cohen, Kristina Koller and Zerena Lupo.

First Friday Café Open Mic is a joint venture of the Justin Veatch Fund and the Yorktown Teen Center to promote the creativity and talents of area youth.  The Open Mic provides a safe and supervised venue for teens to perform for their peers.

This season the First Friday Café Open Mic will be "on tour." The teens normally perform in the nutrition room of the . Since the room is being renovated, the teens are looking for other venues.

The Oct. 14 Open Mic will be at at 6:30 pm. The Nov. 4 Open Mic will be at . The Teen Center is searching for venues for Dec. 2, Jan. 6, 2012 and Feb. 2, 2012.
