Yorktown's Sandra Norman and Deborah Gualtiere Retire

Two Yorktown employees – Sandra Norman and Deborah Gualtiere – are retiring after serving the town for decades.

Norman has worked at the John C. Hart Memorial Library for the last 30 years. Gualtiere, who worked as a water department receptionist before being subject to being laid off during a budget discussion in 2011, has worked in the supervisor's officer and as a floater.

John C. Hart Memorial Library Director Pat Barresi said Norman has been her "right hand" and she will be missed.

"[Norman] has been a rock, she has been extremely hard-working, intelligent," Barresi said. "She has been my computer expert among many other things, but we wish her the best on her new adventure in life. It's not the end, it's the beginning for her."

Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace said he has had "the pleasure" of working with Gualtiere and she will be missed.

"She is a very competent and extremely pleasant woman," he said.
