Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace will be opening the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center as a cooling center on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19.
The cooling center, which is located at at 1974 Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights, will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
It is a place where residents can stay if their home is uncomfortable because of the high temperatures and high humidity. Residents are permitted to bring non-perishable items and are reminded to bring with them any necessary medications. No pets are allowed at the Cooling Center.
