VIDEO: Families Make New Memories with Santa at Pet Photo Night

Area families brought their pets to the Jefferson Valley Mall on Sunday to take a photo with Santa. The next Pet Photos with Santa night is Dec. 11.

Dozens of area residents gathered at the Jefferson Valley Mall Sunday to wait their turn to take a picture with .

Families brought their dogs, some barking with excitement, others patiently waiting their turn. Two 4-month old adopted kittens also made an appearance, but all had a common goal -- to continue a family holiday tradition and make new memories.

Pet owners said they will be sending the pictures to friends and family as their Christmas cards.

Lauren Penchina, director of marketing for the Jefferson Valley Mall, said over the years they've seen various animals, including an iguana, a turtle, parrots, as well as cats and dogs.

The next night is Dec. 11 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
