Support Connection Gets Ready for Cancer Walk

The non-profit that provides free support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer makes it easy to participate in a group, with your feet or as a virtual supporter.

The local not-for-profit organization that provides free emotional, social and educational support to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer is starting several outreach campaigns for its 16th Annual Support-A-Walk on Oct. 3.

This is a 3-mile walkathon held to increase awareness about breast and ovarian cancer and to raise funds for Support Connection's free support services.

This year's Walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Park. Support Connection officials said the date was selected in honor of National Ovarian Awareness Cancer Month in September and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
