Summer Concert in Somers to Benefit 'Adopt an Artifact' Program of Student Historians

The last concert of the summer in Somers will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Mt. Zion Church, a National Register site located in Reis Park. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature classic rock music by the Throwbacks.

The concert is free and donations will be accepted for the Somers Historical Society Student Historians' 'Adopt an Artifact' program. The students have created a blog to chronicle their work and begun the program to highlight some of Somers' artifacts, but also to raise money to help preserve, conserve
and or better protect those objects.

In the event of rain, the concert will be held at Saint Luke's Church in the National Register District, intersection of Rte. 100 and 202.
