Operation Sandy Toy Drop; Christmas Party at the Winery; Holiday Shipping

Here are five things you need to know Dec. 14 to Dec. 16.

It's not too late to help! Yorktown resident Stephen Reid will distribute toys this weekend (Dec. 15 and Dec. 16) in Long Beach, Long Island; and Breezy Point, Queens through a program he started just two weeks ago – "Operation Sandy Toy Drop." Today is the last day you can drop off toys to be donated to Hurricane Sandy victims. Click here for more details.

3. Soundview Prep Collects Gifts for Local Teens

Students, parents and faculty at Soundview Prep have entered into the holiday spirit of giving by collecting food and gifts for Yorktown teenagers and their families in need. Working with Joan Seaboldt, treasurer of Yorktown Community Help, the School is gathering unwrapped presents such as basketballs, make-up kits, clothing and other items that might appeal to adolescents, along with non-perishable food items for their families.
