No Trash, Recycling Collection on MLK Jr. Day in Yorktown

From the town of Yorktown:

There will be no trash or recycling collections in Yorktown on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20 as town offices are closed for the federal holiday.

The Monday and Thursday pickups will be made on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Thursday, Jan. 23. Tuesday and Friday pickups will be made on Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Friday, Jan. 24.

Recycling collections in Section 1 and 7 will be on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Section 6 will be on Wednesday, Jan. 22. There are no schedule changes for Sections 2, 3, 4 and 5.

On Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Friday, Jan. 24, Yorktown residents can bring their obsolete computers, monitors, printers, TVs and other e-waste to the Refuse and Recycling site, which is located behind the police department and town court from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. for free E-Waste Disposal Days.

On Friday, Feb. 2 Westchester County's Mobile Shredder will be at Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents can bring up to 4 file sized boxes of confidential papers per household. Al binder clips and covers must be removed.
