Westchester drivers may need a few extra minutes in the morning thanks to some wet, winter weather on the way.
The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing rain, snow and sleet for the Yorktown and Somers area after 2 a.m. Wednesday. Although only a small amount will accumulate (less than a half-inch) the roads will be slick for the morning commute.
The messy mix will continue through Wednesday morning as snow is expected before 11 a.m., then rain, snow, and sleet are likely.
The temps will hit a high of 39 degrees, according to the NWS.
Over in Northern Westchester, there is a winter weather advisory in effect from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
