How Are You Dealing With Traffic on Route 202 in Yorktown?

The Route 202 intersection improvements project and Bear Mountain Bridge replacement project are well under way in Yorktown. New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) officials said last month during an informational meeting that the construction projects are intended to improve traffic operations and address safety concerns at several intersections.

Project highlights include:

  • Additional travel lane in both directions along Route 35/202
  • Route 35/202 bridge replacement over Hunter Brook
  • New signal at Route 35/202 and Pine Grove Court
  • New signal at Bear Mountain Parkway and Stony Street (a high accident area)
  • New sidewalks along south side of Route 35/202
  • Trail extension along Bear Mountain Parkway connecting new sidewalk on Stony Street
What has traffic on Route 202 been like since construction began? Are you taking different routes in your daily routes to avoid the traffic? Tell us in the comments.
