Hilltop Hanover Farm Asks for Community's Support

Invest in the Yorktown farm and your community by making a donation that will help Hilltop Hanover Farm reach its goal of $50,000.

From Hilltop Hanover Farm:

The Friends of Hilltop Hanover Farm is a nonprofit organization which operates a historic, sustainable farm in partnership with Westchester County. Together with our farmers and a growing network of individual and corporate volunteers, we run a successful working crop farm using organic practices that also offers innovative educational programs to the community.

With continued help of individuals just like you, so much more can be done with the land, outreach and to strengthen our mission of sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, community education, and accessible food for all.

We have accomplished a lot in just 3 short years with invaluable grassroots support from people like you. This year alone, the Farm has helped the community by providing:

  • Fresh produce for the farm stand, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and at our U-Pick, the region's only pick-your-own vegetable operation
  • Certificate classes in sustainable vegetable growing with our partner, Westchester Community College, as well as workshops in farm-to-table cuisine, sustainability, crafts and agriculture
  • Farmers that are paid a livable wage, during the summer and the winter
  • Educational programs for 1,500 school children that highlighted local food systems and environmental stewardship; the next generation is a key priority for Hilltop Hanover Farm
  • 6,000 pounds of organically-grown produce tolocal food pantries with a value of $20,000, ensuring the neediest have access to fresh, nutritious food
  • Contributions to the local farm-to-table movement, through our partnerships with local chefs, restaurants and food-centered organizations.

We now need help from friends and supporters like you to make an investment in the Farm. Your help will ensure our continued success so that you, and our community can continue to; enjoy scenic farm views, harvest vegetables from the ground, hike the woodland trails, purchase fresh local produce at the farm stand, attend events and classes, and provide support for local food pantries, the education of our children and preservation of our farming heritage.

Our goal for the coming year is to raise $50,000. If you can do it, a tax-deductible gift of $100 would really "move the needle," but every donation makes a difference, regardless of size. Remember, this is your Farm - please help it to grow and prosper.
