Trop 1373 Newest Girl Scout Award Winner Alyssa Martin

Alyssa Martin’s “A Sentimental Journey”, aimed to impact the lives of senior citizens and WWII veterans by keeping their memories alive and bringing happiness to veterans and elders through a performance and musical tribute to “the Greatest Generation”.  To achieve this end, Alyssa created a singing trio based on the music and costume style of the Andrews Sisters, a popular sing trio of the 1940s. “A Sentimental Journey” was performed throughout Westchester and the Tri-state area at senior citizen and assisted living homes and hospitals, American Legion halls, Veterans sponsored swing dances and public venues, including FDR’s Library and Museum at Hyde Park and the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum’s World War II Week End event in Reading, PA.  Mr. And Mrs. Paul and Joanne Martin are proud parent of Gold Award winner Alyssa.

Vishnu Patel Councilman spoke at the ceremony held at the Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry N.Y.  March 8, 2014 and Congratulated Alyssa on behalf of Yorktown Board.
