Renowned 'Whisky Jewbilee' to make Suburban Debut at Grand Prix New York

Popular Manhattan Whisky-Tasting Event for Jewish Whisky Aficionados will Raise Money for Support Connection at Oct. 9 Event in Mount Kisco

After years of success across the nation, a popular whisky-tasting event is coming to Westchester. Organized by Jewish Whisky Company, the Whisky Jewbilee will feature more than 45 major whisky brands representing more than 200 different whiskies. The event will be held on October 9 at Grand Prix New York, one Westchester’s premiere venues for fun and fundraisers.

For the suburban whisky fan, this is the event of the year – but there’s a twist. Whisky Jewbilee is designed specifically for Jewish whisky enthusiasts. Glatt Kosher cuisine will be provided by Ari White, Executive Chef, Gemstone Caterers, Pitboss, Wandering Que.

Whisky Jewbilee is an alternative to WhiskyFest, a nationwide festival that regularly draws thousands of whisky enthusiasts to different American cities. When a festival was moved to a Friday and Saturday event, The Jewish Whisky Company decided to hold their own gathering on a date that didn’t conflict with the Jewish Sabbath. The result was a huge – and kosher – success.

“While open to all lovers of whisky, the Whisky Jewbilee, in part because it is a Glatt Kosher catered event, is the perfect opportunity for Jewish aficionados of whisky to gather and meet like-minded Jews who share the same passion and tastes. The event has been wildly successful in New York City and we’re sure that it will be a huge hit in Westchester as well,” said Joshua ‘Yossi’ Hatton, President and Co-Founder of the Jewish Whisky Company.

There will be games and racing at Grand Prix NY from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The grand tasting and dinner begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. Tickets are $110 and can be purchased at www.whiskyjewbilee.com. There is a maximum capacity of 600 people for this event, so participants are encouraged to buy tickets early to guarantee entry.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward Support Connection – a Yorktown Heights-based not-for-profit organization that provides free, confidential services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.

“We are very grateful to Joshua Hatton and the Jewish Whisky Co. for selecting Support Connection as a beneficiary of their Whisky Jewbilee. Recognizing the importance of our critically needed breast and ovarian cancer support services means a great deal to us. Your donation will help fund our free, confidential counseling services and other programs,” said Katherine Quinn, Executive Director of Support Connection.

“At Grand Prix New York, we strive to throw the best parties in the Lower Hudson Valley. Westchester’s first Whisky Jewbilee will be no different. Making the event even more special will be that we’re able to help a good cause by donating to Support Connection,” said GPNY Vice President Nat Mundy.

From the time it opened in 2008, Grand Prix New York has been actively involved in community outreach and fundraising efforts, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities by hosting high-profile events. Grand Prix New York is located at 333 North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco, New York. For more information about GPNY, please call 914-358-3600 or visit www.gpny.com.
