Release: Raise Your Glass For A Good Cause

A wine and food event is planned to benefit , the non for profit organization which provides emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer.

Area residents can stop in and enjoy a wine tasting with hor d’ouevres, music, raffles and prizes while helping raise money for Support Connection.

The Women’s Small Business Advisory Board has joined with Support Connection for the event. Switch up your daily routine and pop in on Sept. 29 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at located at 1715 East Main St. in Mohegan Lake. In addition to the festivities, there will also be raffle items.

Support Connection provides emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer. The support enables women to help each other and empowers them to become their own health care advocates.

By attending this event you could help Support Connection assist women in the community who are affected by these illnesses.

This Fundraising Event is sponsored by The Women’s Small Business Advisory Board: Dolores Genovese, Keller Williams; Events To Remember, Marketing Café, Natural Awakenings Magazine, Sound Earth and Your Sales Fix. Proceeds from this night out will go towards improving Support Connection’s services and programs.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
