The Pythons, sponsored by , took the field against the Cobras, sponsored by Patch. You could feel the excitement in the air at Downing Field. This was the second time these two teams faced each other. Earlier in the week, the Pythons beat the Cobras.

This time, the Cobras beat the Pythons.

“We have a great group of girls on this team. They play with all their heart.” head coach Tom Vano said.

Karen Piehler, assistant coach, said “The girls are all good sports and just love to be out on the field!”

Right after the Pythons – Cobras game, the other two 10U teams faced each other. The Rattlers, sponsored by JC Screening, played the Copperheads, sponsored by Cicinelli & D'Ippolito, CPA's. The Rattlers came out swinging their bats and got the win over the Copperheads.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
