Patch Cobras Play First Game

The 10U YAC Girls Softball Teams came out to play their season openers on Saturday, April 14. The girls were ready with their gloves, bats, mouth guards and softball swagger.

The early morning games brought out the parents with coffee cups in hand, folding chairs and rallying cheers. At Chelsea field, the Patch Cobras faced the Rattlers (sponsored by JC Screening). At Downing field, the Copperheads (sponsored by Cicinelli & D'Ippolito, CPA's) faced the Pythons (sponsored by ).

Bases were covered, balls were hit, bats were swung and pitches were hurled – and all had a great time! All softball enthusiasts were excited to have such a great day to begin the season. The Cobras got their first win of the season as did the Copperheads.

Stay tuned with Patch for more YAC Softball updates throughout the season!

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
