Jesse J. Tiani - Owner of Jesse's Deli - Dies at 83

Jesse was born in New Canaan, CT. the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Tiani. 

Jesse J. Tiani, former owner of Jesse's Deli in Yorktown passed away on Oct. 4. He was 83. 

Jesse served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the 963rd Field Artillery Battalion, 43rd Infantry Division. He was a charter member of the Yorktown Elks Club, a member of the American Legion Post #136 of Mount Kisco, a firefighter for the New Canaan Fire Company No. 1, Mount Kisco Hook & Ladder Co., as well as, an honorary member of the Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No. 1.

He was predeceased by his brothers Harry, Anthony, Sabatini (Buddy), Mario, Daniel, and Sisters Anna and Sandra Tiani.

Tiani will be remembered by his smile, generosity and kindness.

Tiani was laid to rest on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
