Dog Shelter in Need Gives Tech Students Paws

When students at The Tech Center at discovered that a local dog-rescue center was in need of dog food, they raced to the challenge.

Competing with fellow students to see who could collect the most bulk, they ultimately delivered 800 pounds of dog food to Recycled Paws Dog Rescue in Montrose.

"I challenged Tech Center students to raise as much
food as they could,” Tech Center principal Steve Lowry said of the three-week competition. And they couldn’t collect the food fast enough.

“I am really proud of The Tech Center students who
came to the aid of Recycled Paws Rescue. In typical Tech Center Fashion the students went over and beyond what was expected of them. They truly are an asset to the community!”

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
