'Ask Astorino' Town Hall to be Held in Somers Feb. 27

As part of an ongoing effort to reach out to Westchester residents and listen to what is on their minds, County Executive Rob Astorino will host his next “Ask Astorino” town hall meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at Somers Middle School (use auditorium entrance) at 250 Route 202, Somers.

Astorino will be introduced by Somers Town Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy. The county executive will provide an overview of the 2013 budget, which was approved by a bipartisan coalition of the Board of Legislators. He will also give an update on the progress his administration is making in delivering on his three major goals: providing tax relief, preserving essential services and promoting economic development.

Area residents are invited to bring any questions or ideas they would like to discuss face-to-face with the county executive.  They can also submit questions in advance via email at askastorino@westchestergov.com

The popular “Ask Astorino” town hall series has drawn crowds in North Salem, Pelham, White Plains, Scarsdale, Cortlandt, Eastchester and New Castle and will continue to be held on a monthly basis throughout the county.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
