The Alliance for Safe Kids (ASK) and the Cortlandt Community Coalition are hosting the third annual 'Save A Life' forum on Sunday April 14 from 2-4pm at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center.

'Save A Life' is a program designed to inform and empower youth and adults to be community allies and first responders to support teens and families in crisis. Since 2005, there have been over 25 deaths in the Yorktown and Cortlandt Manor communities alone, deaths that have been attributed to drugs and alcohol abuse, depression, as well as physical abuse, bullying and violence. It's time to take action— Get informed. Get involved.

This year, 'Save A Life' features two nationally recognized speakers: Michael Nerney and Javier Sanchez.

Javier Sanchez, from Youth to Youth International, is a product of effective, cutting edge, youth leadership programming and now wants every young person he comes in contact with to have the same opportunity to experience life to the fullest that he has had. Since 1992, Javier has been an advocate for youth and has been encouraging teens to realize that once they catch a vision and a sense of purpose for their life, there are NO LIMITS to their potential. He believes that positive change comes when people get beyond wanting, wishing, or hoping it happens, but actually take the steps to make it happen.
